Peppermint Candy Cane Ornaments

You really can’t get much more of a simple holiday craft project than these peppermint candy cane ornaments.  An entire tree full of them could be made in less than 1/2 an hour.  These are a nice Christmas craft to get the kids into.

Peppermint Candy Wreath

This video shows how to make a peppermint candy wreath.  They look to be pretty simple and only take a couple of minutes to make.  Nothing adds a little holiday festivity to the house more than some homemade Christmas crafts.

Peppermint Candy Cake

When browsing the wonderful web today, I came across a recipe for Peppermint Candy Cake.  All together with the frosting and the cake, it has about 4 cups of sugar.  Seems to be quite the sweet dessert.  Combine that with the sweetness of the peppermint candy that you also put in there and I imagine it is about all of the sugar you will need for a couple of days.  But, it is still something I want to try.

They say all things in moderation…could just mean you eat a couple of slices and then freeze the others for a sweet peppermint treat some other time.  Let me know what you think if you try it.  Click on the picture below to get to the recipe and video.

A few days ago I received an email regarding a certain type of peppermint candy that was a favorite of one of the readers of PeppermintCandy.net. I am trying to help them identify and locate this seemingly delectable treat. Please read their description below and let me know if you are able to help them in their search by contacting me at yummy@peppermintcandy.net.

Their email to me:

Enjoyed looking at your site and hope you can assist in a search. WAY back (early 1950’s in Seattle) my grandmother always had a treat when we came to visit - white with red stripes peppermint candies about 1 inch long (think Christmas candy canes snipped into inch sections) with a soft center. I have looked high and low without success. Can you help me find some?

Milk Chocolate Peppermint Bark

“Lola” Hooper, owner of LolaCookies.com has put together a four-part video recipe on making Milk Chocolate Peppermint Bark. She is an award-winning baker who has a small shop in Leesburg, Virginia. Take some time to enjoy her Peppermint Bark recipe below. You can also get a full listing of her video recipes by visiting Monkey See or Google Video

Today I discovered an interesting recipe in a book by Nancy Baggett. It combines chocolate chips, chocolate cookie dough, and peppermint candy into a seemingly delicious treat. The All-American Cookie Book is available for purchase through Amazon and has a 4.5 out of 5 star rating there, so the recipes must be absolutely wonderful.

There is a nice selection of peppermint candy Christmas ornaments available at Amazon.  They include everything from a peppermint candy reindeer to Ghirardelli peppermint bark filled ornaments. Any of these would add some real personality to your Christmas tree this year.

update: I have just discovered a site that has directions for making your own peppermint candy Christmas ornaments. Give them a visit and also listen to some of their Christmas music. Nothing brightens up a mood like some good old time Christmas music. Warning: turn your speakers down because the music starts automatically.
